Dr. Kalaritis is a co-founder of IRIX Pharmaceuticals. His industrial experience includes 13 years in Process Research and Development from bench chemistry to manufacturing and management with two major pharmaceutical companies; Abbott Laboratories and Hoffman La Roche. Immediately prior to the formation of IRIX Pharmaceuticals, he held the position of Director of Synthesis Development at Hoffman La Roche. He has been actively involved with several new drug introductions to market and marketed products.

Academically, Dr. Panos Kalaritis holds advanced degrees in Organic Chemistry (Ph.D) from Washington University in St. Louis, and Medicinal Chemistry (M.S.) from University of Kansas. He is holder of fifteen patents and a number of publications.
